Skype launches free SkypeOut calls from France to landlines in France

Skype announced today that all French-based Skype™ users with a broadband internet connection can make unlimited SkypeOut™ calls to landlines in France for free. This offer is valid in France from September 7 to December 31 2006. Previously, French-based Skype users were required to pay for all SkypeOut calls from their PCs to traditional landlines. Skype is offering all French-based people the chance to call their friends and family on landlines in France, for free. Calls from one Skype software account to another across the world, remain completely free. Skype has now significantly lowered the cost barrier for its French customers wanting to keep in touch with friends, family and business associates.

Skypestyle receive samples of Edge-Core Skype WiFi Phone and begin testing.

We received a few samples today of the Edge-Core Skype WiFi today. It's a great Skype WiFi Phone and looks like it will be one of the first to market. It is due for release late August. We've tested it on secure and unsecured wireless networks with both Skype IN/OUT and Skype calls and it works really well.

Skype Announces Free International Calls with 'Skype Days of Summer' Offer

Skype, announced that U.S. and Canadian-based Skype users can make free calls to traditional landlines and mobile phones in the United Kingdom, Mexico and Japan during three ‘Skype Days of Summer’ weekends, starting Saturday, July 15th. The three countries represent some of the most frequently called countries by Skype users and are among the leading destinations for all international calling originating from the United States and Canada.

Free SkypeOut(TM) calling to the United Kingdom, Mexico and Japan is available weekends July 15-16, July 22-23 and July 29-30, respectively. The free international SkypeOut calling offer to each country runs 48 hours from 12:01 a.m. EDT Saturdays through Sundays at midnight EDT, when international calling is at a peak.
